Eclipses in Taurus and Scorpio

The fixed signs are our rocks. Much like mythological Atlas, they carry the world on their shoulders, solid, reliable, strong. They give us certainty and continuity in an often uncertain world. When they believe in something, they own it fully, relentlessly, unchanged until it is proven otherwise. They exert total control on what is theirs.

Between late 2021 and 2023, these signs will get the chance to level up in their lives. However, this will not be a walk in the park for those affected, who will be shocked by the speed of change and likely resistant to it. What we take for granted will be turned upside down, as a new natural order emerges. With Uranus in the driving seat of 3 out of the 4 eclipses of the year, there will be no time to prepare for these quantum leaps!

History teaches us that the combination of eclipses with Uranus conjunct the North Node in Taurus can trigger unprecedented realignments in the natural order and our appreciation of it.

The previous four such alignments challenged our certainties in:

  • Physical survival (1351-1353, The Black Death)
  • Social structures and economics (1351-1353, The Black Death)
  • Politics and established religion (1519-1520, The Protestant Reformation)
  • The universe (1687-1688, Isaac Newton's Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica)
  • Science (1854-1856, Darwin's Origin of The Species)

All our most basic and obvious points of reference are subject to a upgrade, as a new lens is applied to our physical reality. Once seen, it cannot be unseen. What Brave New World awaits us?

How These Eclipses Affect You

While signs give us the how and the planets the what, the houses in your chart where an eclipse lands gives you the sphere of life affected. On the premise that Lunar Eclipses are similar to (but significantly more potent than) Full Moons, while Solar eclipses are like New Moons, you’ll find what you need in my Full Moon (Lunar Eclipse) and New Moon (Solar Eclipse) posts. (Do let me know on social if they resonate!) Please remember however that a chart should always be considered in its entirety. An astrological event can trigger contrasting and bewildering experiences in your personal chart.

Learn From The Past

With the Lunar Nodes changing signs every 18 months, and returning to the same sign and house polarity every 9 and 18.6 years, eclipse themes tend to repeat at these cyclical intervals, with story arcs evolving with the same cadence. You can therefore predict the future by looking back into your past. By revisiting the same themes at these intervals, you can either bring them to conclusion or develop them further to springboard your next life chapter. Here are the date ranges of past eclipses in these two signs.
