The Astrology of 2022
2022 promises to be a year of exponential growth and fast-and-furious change. We will be going forward at breakneck speed, both with Jupiter in Aries and Uranus extra strong, and then come back down during the retrogrades to make sense of the magnitude of what just happened. Jupiter will brighten the year for those with strong Pisces and Aries energy (see dates in video), and infuse us all with optimism and a desire to live life to the full. The mood lifts remarkably, as we finally start moving forward with our lives. Whether in the right direction, that's a different matter. Mars and Venus spend the first quarter conjoined, stimulating our feel-good hormones and increasing our capacity to attract success with verve and creativity. Encountering first Pluto (March 3rd) and then, separately, Saturn (March 28th/April 5th), this is the perfect time to get off the ground those projects that have the potential to deeply transform your life and build solid foundations for the future. Just in time to give way to the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction on April 12th, a rare event that will bring us just as easily to ecstasy and despair, as to angelic bliss and collective hypnosis. A fantastic time for healing, the arts and spirituality, nonetheless!
The retrogrades of the year, of which there are as many as can be, will help us ponder and gain perspective on the mind-blowing transformation we've just experienced. Uranus will push hard for change, now that Saturn's hands are somewhat tied and the new series of eclipses amplifies its influence. This will be especially noticeable in the Summer, when the Uranian energy of revolution and innovation meets driven Mars and the future-looking North Node in a momentous triple conjunction. Fasten your seatbelts, this energy is a quantum leap into the future!
Meanwhile, the eclipses shift fully into Taurus and Scorpio, and over the next 18 months, these two signs, but also Leo and Aquarius, get the chance to level up in their lives. However, this will not be a walk in the park for these signs, who will be shocked by the speed of change and likely resistant to it. Both breakups and breakthroughs are possible at this time, it's all a matter of perspective. To be sure, what we take for granted will be turned upside down, as a new natural order emerges. With Uranus in the driving seat of 3 out of the 4 eclipses of the year, there will be no time to prepare for it. Remember those seatbelts I mentioned earlier?
The year ends with Mars retrograde in Gemini, and on the Ascendant of the USA. This will be a frustrating time for Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. Expect wars of words and going round and round in circle for a few weeks. Square Neptune, this retrograde will feel like getting stuck in a swamp when all we want to do is sing and dance. Thankfully, Mars will trine Saturn a few weeks later, which will help us see things clearly at last and devise a more realistic plan to take us to destination.
